RECRUITING

Colorado’s newest professional hockey team, the Rocky Mountain Rage, is set to begin the 2007-08 season this October among 18 teams in the Central Hockey League. The Rage entered in the league’s 15th season of play last season, continuing to build on a tradition of outstanding competition and entertainment first established in the early 90’s. The CHL continues to build as a development league, furthering relationships with both the National and American Hockey Leagues to continue to develop players, administrators and officials for the higher level leagues. The CHL has reached several significant attendance marks in each of the past five seasons. The 2005-06 season attendance of 4.663 million fans was the highest CHL attendance since 1995-96 when the CHL had 7 teams. That season was highlighted by 53 sellouts, the CHL’s regular season average attendance climbed to 4,663 per game, a 4.1 % increase from 2004-2005. The CHL also brought in nearly 2.3 million fans in the 2004-2005 campaign. Since 1992, over 32 million total fans have visited CHL and WPHL arenas, and the CHL is proud to have led all ‘AA’ professional hockey in average attendance for the past five consecutive seasons of play. Today, the CHL remains focused on continued expansion in conjunction with new facilities in new markets, providing players with more options and a first-class experience.

The Rage and the Colorado 14ers Basketball Team (Denver Nuggets affiliate team) are the marquee teams at the Broomfield Event Center. The new venue just opened its doors in November 2006 on the south side of U.S. Highway 36, between 112th and 120th Streets in Broomfield. The Broomfield Event Center is a state of the art 180,000 square foot multi-purpose event center and includes 6,000 seats, including 25 suites and 900 club seats. The Broomfield Event Center hosts more than 130 events per year, including concerts, trade shows, rodeos and sporting events. Among next season's events, the Rocky Mountain Rage and Broomfield Event Center will play host to the 2008 CHL All-Star Game, bringing in the best of the best in the league and contributing to some of the best entertainment the Denver metro area has to offer.
